Ribs On The Weber Summit Kamado post 2023
The never ending quest to replicate similar results off different cookers continue today. This time, I’m tackling baby back ribs on the weber summit kamado. Since getting this cooker on the patio, I have noticed something quite remarkable. The efficient nature of the smoker, paired with my style of cooking, has been producing really fast results still with low and slow Temps.
Ribs on The weber
If you haven’t seen my previous post, Best smoked ribs recipe check it out here. I tried to do the same thing with the Weber Summit Kamado and the results blew me away, and I almost ruined my ribs in the process. Ruin, meaning, I almost made them fall off the bone. This cook lasted 2hrs and 50 minutes and it could have been shorter.
The insulation in the Weber Summit really ratchets up the Performance of the cooker which causes your cooks to be quicker. In large part because I don’t open my smoker to peek, or spritz or anything else, my results in this cooker has been nothing short of excellent. This particular batch of ribs finished just on the cusp of teetering between perfection and overcooked. They were thoroughly enjoyed by the family but now it does have me wanting to see how best I can finish the ribs on it.
The ribs were seasoned with the Jamaican Jerk Marinade from Reggae Spice Company, nothing else. I always like jerk seasonings with pork so I figured why not try ribs. These baby back ribs were smoked for 2 hrs at 250° over oak lump charcoal from B&B charcoal and post oak chunks. After 2 hrs they were wrapped in foil with no butter, no sugar, no juice. Just ribs wrapped and back on smoker. For 50 minutes, the ribs cooked until I picked them up for the best test and they were tender.
One of the most tender bites of baby back ribs I’ve ever made in less than 3 hrs, at 250°. Unbelievable. Stay tuned for the complete review on the weber Summit Kamado E6 Charcoal smoker, coming soon. Full rib cook video on tiktok as well.
